Danielle Ohayon FOR THE first time in the 52 year history of the Miss World competition viewers from around the world will have the opportunity in helping to choose the winner.
These votes will count for 50 per cent of the final Miss World 2002 vote. Voting will be conducted via text messages and only GSM Mobile phones are eligible.
To participate, text messages can be sent to +44 7957 500 500 and then the name of the country and its contestant can be selected. It must be prefixed by MW, so if the contestant chosen is Miss Jamaica, the text message to be sent would read 'MW JAMAICA'.
Voting began yesterday and will close at midnight on December 6. All voters will be eligible for an all-expenses paid trip to China for the final of the 2003 competition.
