May Pen gets new tax office
published: Wednesday | December 18, 2002

A NEW revenue services centre for residents of May Pen in Clarendon and its environs, was opened on Monday as part of the efforts of the Tax Administration Services Department (TASD) to improve the island's revenue services.

The May Pen Revenue Centre, built to serve the growing mid-island parish, is located in the heart of the town at 7 Windsor Avenue, near the Courthouse. The Centre has been designed to provide a wide range of services in a "one-stop" location and include tax payments, tax compliance certification, taxpayer service, motor vehicle transactions, trade licensing, taxpayer registration, audit and assessment, stamp duty and transfer tax, and customs advisory services.

The May Pen Collectorate has been relocated to the newly built Revenue Service Centre and customers may still make telephone contact by dialling 986-2224.

The opening of the May Pen Revenue Centre brings to three the number of such facilities operated by the tax administration outside of Kingston, with the other two being located in Montego Bay, St. James and Spanish Town, St. Catherine.
