PM, a true gentleman

The Editor Sir,
As a frequent visitor to Jamaica and the Grand Lido Negril, I was paid the
ultimate compliment during luncheon on December 15, 2002. While dining alone
and finishing my dessert; I noticed a distinguished gentleman approach my table
with a warm smile and outstretched hand in greeting.
To my surprise and delight it turned out to be the Prime Minister of Jamaica who took a brief moment to acknowledge my frequent visits to this beautiful island and the flagship SuperClubs property, Grand Lido Negril.
Let there be no mistake, I am a simple man void of any political or entrepreneurial accomplishments. The fact is, I'm just another tourist who has come to love Jamaica for its beauty and the warmth of its people. To be honoured by the Prime Minister for making such an obvious choice is an honour I will cherish the rest of my life.
I take this opportunity to inform all who read The Gleaner, that the Jamaican
people are indeed unique in the world and are well served by a true gentleman
and leader in the person of their Prime Minister.
