Second JCA practice match bowls off today

THE second Jamaica Cricket Association's (JCA) practice match to prepare for the regional first class season bowls off at 10:30 today at Kensington Park.

It is expected that Leon Garrick and Keith Hibbert who were both hit in the box at a practice session on Tuesday should be ready for today's game, which runs until Sunday. Both players were rushed to hospital as precaution.

Garrick was hit by a quick delivery from former Jamaica Under-19 bowler, Dwight Washington, fresh out of the Andy Roberts fast bowling clinic in Antigua, while Brenton Parchment, not known for his pace hit wicketkeeper Hibbert.

Robert Samuels and Gareth Breese are again expected to lead the teams. In the first practice match at Police Ground, Elletson Road, Breese's XI scored 170 and 200, while Samuels' XI posted 147 and 224 for four to win by six wickets.

The players are: Robert Samuels; Leon Garrick; Brenton Parchment; Mario Ventura; Tamar Lambert; Gareth Breese; Franklyn Rose; Audley Sanson; Nehemiah Perry; Keith Hibbert; Ryan Cunningham; David Bernard, Jnr.; Odean Brown; Shawn Findlay; Danza Hyatt; Lorenzo Ingram; Phillip Keating, Maurice Kepple; Xavier Marshall; Nicarlo McFarlane; Donovan Pagon; Kevin Peart; Andrew Richardson; Matthew Sinclair; Jerome Taylor; Dwight Washington and Myron Wilson.
