Audrey Chin says adios to MSMB
published: Friday | December 20, 2002

By Kendrick Josephs, Freelance Writer

THE Financial Gleaner understands that former Vice-President of Marketing and Investment, Corporate Banking at Manufacturers Sigma Merchant Bank (MSMB), Audrey Chin. will be joining National Commercial Bank (NCB) in a senior management capacity.

A source at MSMB said that Mrs. Chin tended her resignation sometime last month.

Mrs. Chin who played a pivotal role in the success of Sigma Unit Trust joined that company soon after it began operations back in 1994. Sigma was headed by Sandra Shirley who in turn joined NCB as managing director of OMNI and West Indies Trust Company earlier this year.

On July 1, 2001, Mrs. Chin took up a senior management position with the new Manufacturers Sigma Merchant Bank, a merger between Sigma and MSMB. She concluded her brief tenure there on November 30,2002.

Yesterday afternoon, the Financial Gleaner's efforts to confirm the NCB appointment proved futile.

Mrs. Chin holds a MSc in Accounting and a BSc in Economics. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. She has held positions as Research Economist at the Jamaica Industrial Development Corporation and later audit supervisor with the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche. Prior to taking the position at Sigma, Mrs.Chin was the managing director of Lasco Foods Limited.
