God and elections
published: Wednesday | January 1, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WISH to express some of my views in your wonderful paper. The results of the General Elections proved that the hand of God was in this one. Some of us wanted the JLP to have won but as we have seen the stage is set for more unity among the leaders and also the people.

We all know that much of our hatred for each other started with our political leaders. Let us be careful now of the words we speak as leaders as we expect others to follow us. The DJ's are also in leading positions and should also be careful. The children are listening and following you too. So lead by example.

We are more free than some others in various parts of the world, let us respect and honour our freedom or God can take it away from us.

I am, etc.,

SAMUEL FERNANDEZ
