A COLOURFUL poster and a projector showing past 'Dem A Go Tired Fi See Mi Face' concerts formed a part of the launch of Bob Marley week on Friday.
The biggest news for the night however was that for the first time since its inception, 'Dem A Go Tired Fi See Mi Face' the concert held in tribute of late reggae singer Bob Marley, will not be held at Nine Miles in St. Ann.
'Dem A Go Tired Fi Se Mi Face' is scheduled for February 8 and will be held at the James Bond Beach in Oracabessa, St Mary.
Before that bit of information was passed on, the poster showing the line up of acts on 'Dem A Go Tired Fi See Mi Face' was unveiled. The colourful and attractive bill showed all those who were scheduled to appear on the line-up. Of course, there were no faces on the poster that patrons who intend to attend the show will ever get tired of seeing.
On the line-up are Coco Tea, Sizzla, Culture, Natural Black, Chuck Fender, Kymani Marley and Jevaughn Genius, who sang and played several musical instruments the last time he performed on the concert, as well as other acts.
"The concert is a part of 'Bob Marley Week'. It is also a celebration of Black History month," said Junie Star of Prime Time Entertainment before unveiling the poster.
After the launch, a projector showing past performances at the concert was unveiled. Apart from the concert, it was disclosed that an event would be held at Nine Miles, St. Ann on February 6, the birthday of the reggae star.
Several other activities will also be put on over seven days. The week will start with a church service which will take place at the Ethiopian Orthodox Church at 89 Maxfield Avenue, Kingston on February 2.
In addition to the church service, there will be the opening of the Tuff Gong Masters Digital Audio and Rehearsal Studio at Tuff Gong International on Wednesday, February 5, as well as a school tour of Tuff Gong International the previous Tuesday. Both events are by invitation only.
Other events include two 'Catch A Fire' concerts at the MXIII Entertainment Centre, Negril, Westmoreland, on Thursday and Friday and the 'Wi Jammin Birthday Session' also on Thursday at the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston.
Of course, persons who are interested in the intellectual side of the entertainment industry will be catered to with a panel discussion 'The philosophy of Rastafari is for Good Governance in Jamaica' at the Bob Marley Museum on February 6. There will also be the Bob Marley lecture at the University of the West Indies, Mona, St. Andrew, the following Friday.
