Jamaica Gleaner Letters
published: Monday | February 3, 2003

Focus on child abuse
THE EDITOR, Sir: WE THE undersigned are encouraged that the long-standing plight of Jamaican children in children's homes and places of safety is receiving public attention.

Capitalism is king
THE EDITOR, Sir: THERE IS no denying it. Capitalism, regardless of how anyone feels about it, is king and it is here to stay, at least for a while yet.

Public transport, essential development
THE EDITOR, Sir: IN TRYING to solve the problems with the JUTC, Jamaica might consider taking a look at other national transportation systems in America, Canada, and Britain.

Education, the solution
THE EDITOR, Sir: THIS IS in response to the article by Mr. Delroy Chuck entitled 'Exporting Human Capital'. Sometimes I think we here in Jamaica cannot see the forest for the trees.

Patois in the courts
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT IS with interest that I read Mr Samuel A. Fitz-Henley's letter regarding Patois in the courts.
