THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT IS with a heart full of gratitude that I write on behalf of the Holy Childhood family to thank you and the generous members of the public who responded to our plea for assistance for Mr. Kirklyn Williams. I am happy to report that we have accomplished our goal and the money has been lodged to the hospital's account, and plans are under way to have him flown out as soon as possible. The response from the public was tremendous.
People from all walks of life and from over Jamaica called or came in. It was truly wonderful! We even received calls from people in the United States and the United Kingdom. You, our generous benefactors have helped the students of Holy Childhood understand that there is joy in helping another human being. It is a lesson I am sure they will never forget. Words cannot express our gratitude. I can only say that because of you, a little girl will have a chance for her father to see her grow up. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
My thanks too, to our sister school, Alpha Academy for joining us in this project. I take this opportunity to assure those donors whose names we have, that after you have been sent a thank you note, the list containing your name will be destroyed and no further effort will be made to impose on your generosity.
All of you, ladies and gentlemen, including those persons who gave anonymously, will be remembered at a special service this coming Friday when we will be praying for God's blessing on you and yours.
