REIGNING CHAMPIONS Sandie Richards and Juliet Campbell are in a star-studded Jamaica squad of 22 for the IAAF World Indoor Track & Field Indoor Championship in Birmingham, England later this month.
Richards, the world indoor 400-metre champion in 1993 and 2001, will be going for a third title, while Campbell defends the first global title she won in Portugal two years ago.
World No. 1 men's 400m runner Michael Blackwood is included to make the 4x400m relay team a potent one that includes current world top-10 runner on the indoors performance list Davian Clarke, and Danny McFarlane, who was a bronze medallist at the 2001 world indoors.
Commonwealth Games champion Lacena Golding-Clarke and Brigette Foster, both current world top-five ranked sprint hurdlers, will also attend the March 14-16 meet.
The 1996 Olympic long jump silver medallist James Beckford is also in the 11-member men's team, along with rising high jump star Germaine Mason, silver and bronze medallist at the past two World Junior Championships.
Mason, 20, will be appearing at his first World Indoor Championship meet.
