THE EDITOR, Sir:
TO THE Programmes Manager Of Television Jamaica (TVJ):
The management of TVJ needs to realise that there are many viewers who tune in to TVJ to watch their favourite soap operas. Lately, the numerous fans of "Generations" have been getting a raw deal.
"Generations" used to be aired from 9:30-10:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and if you missed that time slot you could catch a repeat episode from 6:00-6:30 a.m. the next morning.
To accommodate the World Cup Cricket, TVJ bounced "Generations" to only two days per week for a one hour slot. We have now noticed, with great alarm, that "Generations" has been further reduced to a half-an-hour slot on Tuesday April 8th 2003. TVJ has displayed total disregard for the faithful viewing public.
Why are the soap operas always the ones to be sidelined to accommodate an irregular event? We, the soap opera fans, watch TVJ daily, not only when there is a cricket match.
We demand more respect.
We are, etc.,
