Supreme Ventures still assessing new taxes
published: Sunday | May 11, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WRITE regarding a news item which appeared on the front page of The Gleaner on May 7, 2003, regarding Supreme Ventures' compliance with the recently implemented GCT on the gaming industry.

The context in which my statements were written wrongly gave the impression that Supreme Ventures is currently willing and able to comply with the new taxation measures announced.

The fact is, though, as a matter of principle, SVL strives to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory guidelines, our ability to comply with, and our receptiveness to this new taxation is still uncertain as we are still in the process of assessing its implications on our operations.

As it stands now, we are engaged in dialogue with the relevant authorities to assist us in this regard.

I am, etc.,

SUZETTE SMELLIE-TOMLINSON

P.R. & Marketing Manager

Supreme Ventures Limited
