Hampshire's Suzette Jones intercepts a pass during her team's game against Maverley in the Western Union intermediate league quarter-finals at the Leila Robinson Courts yesterday. Hampshire won 39-24.

TIVOLI B, MOLYNES United A, Hampshire and Friendship A booked their spots in the Western Union Intermediate League netball semi-finals after securing wins in quarter-final action at the Leila Robinson Courts yesterday.

Tivoli outscored Dela Vega A 33-18, Hamphsire defeated Maverley 39-24, Molynes stopped Arnett Gardens 40-36 while Friendship A eliminated Jetsetters B 31-19.

The semi-finals will be played on Thursday at the same venue with Tivoli against Molynes at 5:30 p.m. and Hampshire against Friendship following that.

Already bets are being placed as to who will make it to the next round.

Friendship A did well this season but Hampshire A have been unbeaten up to this stage and are seen as favourites to take the title.

It may be third time lucky for Tivoli this time around but they will know their fate after Thursday's games. Tivoli has reached the final for the last two years but they lost on both occasions by the odd goal.

Molynes on the other hand have kept their name on the tongues of everyone and have managed to reach the semi-final stage, however, they have never taken the final step and will find it difficult getting by Tivoli.

Said assistant league director Andrew Rose: "This year has been one of our better years in terms of discipline and overall play and I foresee it getting better for the next season".

"There are four very good teams in the semi-finals and while the league has been exciting so far will get even better come Thursday when they vie for a final spot," he said.
