Dollar dips again

THE JAMAICAN dollar has depreciated by $3.31 against the United States currency during the past week, closing at an average rate of $62.65 at the end of trading yesterday.

The weighted average buying rate was $61.90, about $1.26 more than Monday's rate. According to the Bank of Jamaica trading summary, the highest selling rate of the US dollar yesterday was $64.

The British pound sterling reached its highest rate yet, selling for an average of $100.32 and a high of $102.10, while the average buying rate was $96.96. The Canadian dollar was sold for $44.42 and was bought for $42.60.
