Palace Amusement, please clarify

THE EDITOR, Sir:
YESTERDAY MY son came to ask my permission to attend a showing of the movie The Matrix Reloaded at one of our local cinema houses. I flatly refused his request telling him that the movie was rated R and was not for his 14-year-old eyes. He then brought this paper to me with the advertisement suggesting that I should rethink because it was rated PG 13 by our own movie bosses.
Can Palace Amusement please clarify for us the rating system as it applies to this film, as the United States has an R rating against our PG 13. My son is eager to see this film, and I'm wondering if there are any other differences like this for other films shown here. Thank you.
