Defending UWI's research on Africa
THE EDITOR, Sir: PLEASE ALLOW me to submit my defence on behalf of the University of the West Indies in light of arguments raised in the article entitled 'UWI neglecting African history', which appeared on May 26, 2003.

Highly unacceptable
THE EDITOR, Sir: MY FAMILY and I live in the UK. On Thursday, March 6, we handed over our old passports to a representative of the Jamaican High Commission (London) at a surgery in Birmingham, for these passports to be renewed.

JLP, PNP, all one and the same
THE EDITOR, Sir: NOW THAT the anticipated local government elections will be held on June 19, the question is, will the PNP continue their winning streak? If yes, how can the JLP explain losing the election? ...

Teach our children, save our culture
THE EDITOR, Sir: HAVE YOU ever talked to your child/children about our history? ...

Cell phones in traffic
THE EDITOR, Sir: I HAVE been having a problem with some of the laws of this country and the biased nature of our police personnel. Please forgive my ignorance on this matter.

TVJ cricket disappointing
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT IS with deep regret I acknowledge the unprofessionalism Television Jamaica displayed during the broadcast of the fifth one-day match between Australia and the West Indies.
