Four through to national finals

BALCOMBE DRIVE Junior High and Norman Gardens Primary and Junior High advanced to the national finals of the Jamaica National Building Society's All Age schools cricket competition with victories in the parish finals yesterday.

Balcombe Drive defeated Melrose by eight wickets at Melbourne Oval to win the St. Andrew title and Norman Gardens defeated Central Branch by 15 runs at Kensington Park to take the Kingston title.

In the Primary schools contests, Mona defeated Tarrant by two wickets at Melbourne Oval to win the St. Andrew title and Rollington Town defeated Rousseau 16 runs at Kensington Park for the Kingston title.

Batting first in the St. Andrew All Age final, Melrose scored 88 and Balcombe Drive replied with 87 for two.

In the Kingston All Age final, Norman Gardens scored 159 for nine and dismissed Central Branch for 144.

In the St. Andrew primary schools final, Mona dismissed Tarrant for 88, including 34 extras, and then, thanks to 49 extras, scored 98 for eight.

The Kingston final saw Rollington Town posting 81 for four before dismissing Rousseau for 65.
