JAZZED UP AWARDS

Friends of Jazz presents a Jazz Concert & Awards featuring Lorraine Klassen (South Africa/Canada), the UNI Band from Switzerland and Larry Alexander from Jamaica. Also featuring the Marjorie Whylie Whrythm with Desi Jones on drums, Seretse Small on guitar, Dale Haslam on bass and Noel Seale on congas. The event will be held in the Jamaica School of Music Auditorium, Arthur Wint Drive and is set to begin at 8:30 p.m. Tickets: $1,500.

INTERNATIONAL ICE

Ryder Entertainment presents Smirnoff Ice Iced Out at 36 Hope Road. Featuring Natural Vibes with Noah from New York, Parownyde with Sulf & Legend from Washington, DC, Renaissance, Leftside & Esco and Zip J Ice. Free Smirnoff Black Ice on entry before 1 a.m., Smirnoff Ice 2-for-1 specials all night. There will also be drink specials all night. The three dance floors are: EDI Iced Out - Snow Pit, Iced Out - Dance Floor and EDI Laser Lit - Dance Floor. Admission: $600 pre-sold and $800 at the gate, UWI and UTech students with ID $600.

ROCK AWAY

Rock Away featuring Beres Hammond and Half Pint, originally scheduled for May 24 but postponed due to inclement weather, will now take place at Norbrook Mountain, Stony Hill, and is dubbed as a Pre-Father's Day event.

TEA PARTY FOR THE AGED

The Board of Management of the Bishop Gibson Home for the Aged will be hosting a Tea Party at the Immaculate Conception High School, 152 Constant Spring Road, starting at 4 p.m. There will be entertainment and lots of prizes.

WINE, CHEESE, ART & CRAFT

The South Carolina Lodge presents Wine and Cheese Art & Craft Bazaar at Redbones the Blues Café, 21 Braemar Avenue, from 6 - 10 p.m. Contribution: $500.

The RCM Music Foundation, in collaboration with the Kingston Restoration Company (KRC) in celebration of its 20th anniversary, and the British High Commission, present the Second Annual Samuel Felsted Tribute Concert at the Kingston Parish Church, 70B King Street, commencing at 4 p.m. This concert will feature music originally by Esteban Salas and Samuel Felsted. Performers include: Curtis McDonald (counter-tenor), Paul Williamson (tenor), Rosina Christina Moder (recorder), Peter Ashbourne (violin) and others. Special appearance by VOICE. Admission: free.

Redbones the Blues Cafe', 21 Braemar Avenue, will be hosting 'The Bear' and 'The Proposal', two one-act plays by the famous Russian playwright Anton Chekhov. The plays are directed by Mr. William Lampert, produced by Mr. Evan Williams and will star Paul Issa, Luigi Brusa, Donna Harriot, Troy Chambers and Marsha Hamilton.
