Love more than money

THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT IS with interest and some annoyance I read Ms. Henry's response to the article love equating marriage. It's quite a thing when everything in today's society comes down to money. Love is a very complex and precarious thing at any given time. Those who have not experienced it for all it's worth should not speak of it in such flippant tones. Sure economics plays a part in a family-life situation but again marriage should not be about can he or she afford me(financial-wise).
Too many relationships are based on this factor in today's morally deprived society. When the question of love enters into things it should be based on open communication, unconditional acceptance of the individual, and emotional maturity and a willingness to work together with what you have to create something for the future. Love is all this and then some.
Socio-background, age (to some degree) and all else matters little in the grand scheme of things. Too often these days people find all sorts of reasons to bolster the illogical and irresponsible way of thinking and behaviour.
