INFORMATION MINISTER, Burchell Whiteman was last night inducted as a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)/Caribbean Chapter.
The induction took place at the monthly meeting of the organisation held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. IABC is the world's leading resource for effective communication practice and has a membership of more than 14,000 in over 60 countries. Its members run the gamut of mainline media workers, information technology specialists, public relations and marketing executives and educators. President of IABC's Caribbean Chapter, Gerry McDaniel, said that the decision to induct Minister Whiteman was a strategic one. According to Mr. McDaniel: "Our organisation acknowledges that information is the primary resource in propelling the world's economies forward and, given that the Minister is a critical custodian of Jamaica's information base, we felt it was natural to make this link."
Following his induction, Minister Whiteman addressed the meeting on "Values, Attitudes and Mutual Understanding."
