Enormous water bill
published: Tuesday | September 23, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

A CONCERN about the water bill. It's bad enough that people everywhere are complaining about not having water in their pipes for days, but what's even worse is being hit with an enormous water bill at the end of the month.

My biggest concern is the payment on the bill that says PAM. The questions I have are, what exactly are we paying for when we pay PAM? Why do customers have to pay 51% for this, which amounts to half or more than the amount of water a customer uses for the month? At the same time we still pay service charge.

Could the person or persons responsible for PAM kindly remove this charge or drop it to an affordable rate. Customers are already faced with much inconvenience of the water system. We cannot afford it.

I am, etc.,
