No love for criminals

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I AM a Jamaican man who always supports women's liberation. That is why when I read the story of Det. Sgt. Brown-Campbell carried in your edition of Monday, Sept., 29 2003, about how she struggled and made sacrifices in order to realise her life-long dream and ambition of becoming an attorney-at-law and that she'd finally attained her goal, I was elated and proud, picturing her as one strong Jamaican black woman, a go-getter, a struggler and a fighter.
Now only hours after all this good feeling, my heart sinks in sadness that not only was she made to physically fight for a chance to live her dream but also for her life.
It is time for the struggling, ambitious and goal-oriented women like Det. Sgt. Brown-Campbell to join hands and heart and stand up against worthless disgusting criminal men. Women should frown, turn up their noses and turn their backs on these men. These hoodlums should be found wanting for the luxury of the comfort and warmth of a woman's body. The table should not be set nor should there be a place in any woman's bed for a criminal-minded man.
My prayers are that Det. Sgt. Brown-Campbell, attorney-at-law, will make a full and speedy recovery and that the culprit will be apprehended.
