Green light for Dolphin Cove
published: Friday | October 3, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE JAMAICAN government has given the owners the greenlight for the expansion of Dolphin Cove, a captive-dolphin facility on Jamaica's North Coast.

The reality is that expansion of Dolphin Cove, in its quest for tourist dollars, will almost certainly precipitate the total destruction of the local area's already-damaged coral reef habitat. It will also negatively impact regional dolphin populations as well, as more wild dolphins are captured for tourist attraction.

I am, etc.,

DEBBIE BURACK
