Rotarians open Centennial Park
published: Monday | October 6, 2003

By Byron McDaniel, Gleaner Writer

MANCHESTER:

WEARING YELLOW shirts with their club's insignia, proud members of the Rotary Club of Christiana stood in a semi-circle at the Christiana roundabout recently, as Keith Daley, District Governor for the Northern Caribbean, cut the ribbon declaring open "The Rotary Centennial Park" project.

District Governor Daley, a Jamaican, presides over 61 clubs in the Caribbean. He described the work of the Christiana club as phenomenal and encouraged its members to continue to identify and implement projects to enhance the town.

The project which started in March of this year was completed in September at a cost of $97,000.

Junior Mills, President of the 18-member Christiana Club said his organisation along with its youth arm club - the Interact of the Holmwood Technical High School - would maintain the park.
