MORE THAN 20 persons were detained in Clarendon yesterday, following a massive operation conducted with members of the Special Anti-Crime Task Force (SACTF).
"We seized an illegal firearm and ammunition, a quantity of stolen articles and cocaine and a number of offensive weapons," said Superintendent Terrence Bent, head of the Clarendon Division.
With assistance from Senior Superintendent Donald Pusey and the SACTF, the police swept through the communities of May Pen, Hayles, Hayles Field, Farm and Gimmi-Mi-Bit, in search of a network of criminals said to be behind several shooting deaths in the parish since last week. At least seven persons were shot, three fatally.
