Against the leasing of Winifred Beach
published: Thursday | October 16, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT WILL be a sad day for Jamaica and Jamaicans if and when Winifred Beach is leased to a 'for profit' corporation.

This beach must remain accessible to all.

Members of the Portland Parish Council who vote for the lease should feel the sting of the voters' backlash. It is time for Jamaicans to be more vocal in the affairs of the country.

The Council was voted in by the people for the people. The resources of the island is not theirs to dispose of in any way they choose. Enough is enough.

It's a well known fact that corruption is rampant so let's see if the leader (P.J.) has the guts to say no and do what's right for Jamaicans and Jamaica.

Folks, it's not about The JLP or the PNP It's about JAM-AICA.

I am etc.,
