THE EDITOR, Sir:
WHILE MR. Ezroy Millwood's National Transport Co-operative Society is still basking in its arbitration award, there's room for improvement where his drivers and conductors are concerned. I would like to bring to Mr. Millwood's attention the bus bay in Half-Way Tree which the NTCS and JUTC buses use.
Since both bus companies use the bus bay, why is it that the drivers employed by NTCS choose to block the free flow of traffic in the bus bay? Some of the drivers purposely (purposely is too mild), spitefully 'sit on the green light', preventing the JUTC driver and passengers to go where they're going! Mr. Editor mi feel it fi the JUTC driver, he/she could blow the bus horn from now until judgement day...the NTCS driver not moving an inch, all he does is rev the engine giving the impression that it is going to move, and the 'ducta' shouting "Press driva press"! At this time the commuters in the JUTC bus start to get boisterous (serious thing).
I want to know who is in charge of the NTCS bus, the driver or the 'ducta'? If the 'ducta' tell the driver to block the JUTC bus, believe me Mr. Editor, the driver does it, and if police holds the driver the 'ducta' is nowhere to be seen!
Mr. Millwood, I know that you are a man of principle and integrity, instruct the NTCS drivers who use the Half-Way Tree bus bay not to block other buses. May I also suggest that you choose any evening after 7 and surprise the drivers, then you'll see what I'm talking about.
I am, etc.,
