St. Jago's Enrico Beech. THE SECOND round of Manning Cup action continues this afternoon with a doubleheader at Emmet Park featuring Vauxhall and Donald Quarrie at 1:30 p.m. followed by Camperdown and St. Jago at 3:30 p.m.
Mona tackle Norman Manley at Campion College at 3:30 p.m. in the day's other game.
Donald Quarrie have taken an early lead in Group Two after beating Tivoli 3-1 on Tuesday. Donald Quarrie's victory came as a surprise to many. However, they have always been capable of performing well but have been inconsistent in putting on a good show. The Owen Wright-coached team may be set to create more upsets in the second round.
St. Jago seem determined to maintain a perfect win record and are in good condition to do so.
Despite playing poorly against Mona on Tuesday, St. Jago were able to muster a 1-0 win.
Camperdown, who played great for the first 15 minutes against Norman Manley on Tuesday, lacked the concentration needed to weather Norman Manley's backlash. Their opponent, St. Jago, have similar attacking power to Norman Manley and Camperdown will have to put forward their best show to be a real threat to St. Jago.
Norman Manley lead Group One and are the favourites to advance to the semi-finals from that group.
Norman Manley's coach, Alrick Clarke, said he was optimistic about his team's chances even when it started poorly.
"My guys know when to lift their game and step up," he said.
