PULSE MODEL Carla Campbell is to appear in the upcoming James Bond movie After The Sunset, alongside stars Pierce Brosnan, Woody Harrelson and Salma Hayek.
The movie is currently being filmed on location on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Carla who was a favourite at the recently held Caribbean Fashionweek, has garnered a lot of attention because of her "curvaceous sex appeal" and has appeared in several issues of Maxim, top worldwide men's magazine.
Campbell, who currently lives in New York, grew up in Kingston, Jamaica, where she attended the University of Technology (UTech), after graduating from high school. She has been a Pulse model for six years, since she entered the Jamaican Fashion Model Competition in 1997 and placed in the top three. She signed to IMG and to Karin model agencies two years later. Apart from being a repeat star at all three stagings of Fashionweek, Campbell has appeared on a host of major runways and international shows such as New York Fashion Week and MTV's Fashionably Loud. She is also the current Fubu and Eckored Campaign girl and has also done work for Ralph Lauren.
Carla has little acting experience, but her appearance in music videos for Joe and Beenie Man/Janet Jackson's Feel it Boy, have in a way prepared her for her role in the movie. And even though Carla is not the female lead, it is reported she will have a substantial part, with lines.
Campbell joins the ranks of models who have crossed over, sometimes to tragic failure, into acting. Noted among them are Cindy Crawford, Charlize Theron and Tyra Banks. Fellow Jamaican model/actress Grace Jones appeared in the James Bond Movie A View to Kill, alongside Roger Moore, in 1985.
Carla was unavailable for comment as she is now filming in the Bahamas.
