By Stephanie Elliott, Gleaner Writer

CLARENDON:

A MAN was fatally shot on Sunday, November 9, about 1:15 a.m when he went to investigate strange sounds he heard coming from his vehicle which was parked outside his friend's gate.

THE DECEASED

The deceased, Owen Small-wood, 38-year-old electrical technician of Bauxite Crescent, Mineral Heights Clarendon was visiting a friend in Rawles District, Palmers Cross. He parked his motor car at the gate and went into the house.

Mr Smallwood reportedly heard strange sounds coming from his vehicle shortly afterwards. He went to investigate and was held up by four armed men. The men reportedly ordered him to put his hands above his head and to remain standing. Mr. Smallwood reportedly panicked and started to run away from the men who opened fire hitting him in his head and neck. He died on the spot.

The May Pen CIB has not established a motive for the killing.
