MY DEARS, parties here, parties there, in fact, parties everywhere. Luvs, aam-a-telling-y'all, the social scene is way past full-throttle this party season as it is now steaming ahead on thermo-nuclear power, and then some!
And, doves, hold unto your horses, as it promises to get even more frantic.
Anyways, it's the season of the fabulous and so the fabulous pry and party on. And naturally, in the midst of all this here partying, y'all know there's lots of tackiness passing itself off as 'style'.
Daahlings, bad-taste is just that bad taste! It is not chic. It is most certainly not stylish. And it is decidedly a far cry from being civilised. Now let those who are pretenders to being civilized behave as such rather than the charade and game of masquerade they employ, as indeed, in the end your true colours win out as they are.
And so the buzz in all of polite society this weekend is the very tacky behaviour of some the scions of the all-powerful and the financial potentates.
Alas, the verdict is in and the latest move by those concerned, rather than winning friends and influencing people, has left such a bad taste in the mouths, that indeed, the buzz-word now making the high-society beltway is ostracisation.
Now, there is nothing like a juicy bit of social bonne bouche to make for a whirlwind of debate and posturing and this weekend bonne bouches abound.
Luvs, it seems that there's invites aplenty to one upcoming North Coast nuptials. Even the socially interred have been resurrected in the hope of making this one a spectacular affair. More anon.
But back to the business of being tacky. Doves, undoubtedly, this season's Trophy for Tackiness definitely belongs on the mantlepiece of that once revered family for their behaviour up in the hills at the start of the weekend.
Now, the word coming from St. Andrew is please, spare us your future invites! Oouucchh!
SO MANY PARTIES
Luvs, the oh so charming and purr-ingly gorgeous Lisa Marzouca, threw a dee-vine little dinner party last Tuesday night at her St. Andrew residence, that had guests a-purring over her absolutely fabulous fare, as indeed the leg of lamb and toasted breasts of pullet were simply to-die-for.
And as if to underline the fabulousness of the occasion, there was Beaujolais Nouveau (especially brought in from France) to add an air of international chic to the occasion, as indeed, it is Beaujolais Nouveau season.
Indeed, it is also the season of small dinner parties as on Thursday night, it being Thanksgiving Day, the always fashionable Janet Farrow, hosted a Thanksgiving feast at her very charming Liguanea condo, that was another fabulous night for a great fare and faultless company.
My dears, the fabulous Ms. Farrow went to town and then some, for her fare as friends and associates gathered to celebrate with her and a number of American expatriates, unable to make it back home for the Thanksgiving weekend, and simply partied the afternoon and night away.
It was Friday, before it was all over a day and night chockfull of deliciously wicked witticisms, outrageous humour and a fare that was a celebration of life's gourmet offerings.
Luvs, you all know that it is indeed the season for thanksgiving and celebrations. Well, it is and for some there's plenty to celebrate and so they do.

In fact, it made for a very relaxed occasion, evidenced by the cadre of family members, clients and friends who all came out to share in the spirit of the occasion.
Hosted atop the hotel's rooftop garden, with the nights stars a-blazing in the skies above, celebrated musician Floyd Folks giving another of his one-man aggregation faultless musical performance, the stage was set for an evening of warm camaraderie and an atmosphere of charm. And with the Terra Nova grounds fabulously done-up in a festive motif, the palms and jacarandas streaming with white-lights, and the echo of gurgling ponds there was no escaping the picture of serenity and elan than enveloped the affaire.
And with libations flowing with the ease of a newly-discovered oil well, coupled with a simply wonderful fare it all made for a marvelous welcoming reception and testimony of the style of the hosts.
Among those out sharing the occasion included Charles Ross and his wife Natalie Farell; Mildred Moss; parents of the new appointee Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Goldson; his wife, the lovely Susan Goldson; Ambassador Arthur Thompson and his beautiful wife Eleanor Thompson; Sushail Jain; the elegant Corine Pine-McLarty; Donald Duff; Neville James; Al Webb; Dr. Nancy George; James Samuels; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Minott; David Williams; Beverly Hirst; Winston Hoo and brother Ernest Hoo; Diane Bernard; Eugene Folkes; David Minott; Basil Nelson; Mr. and Mrs. Clarke Cousins; Marcus James; Pamela Lewis-Chambers; financial scribe Al Edwards; Judith Bloomfield; Novia McDonald-White; Joe Brown; the lovely Nicole Chin-Loy; plus a number of others.
