Breese, left, and Perry
HONOURS ARE even after two days in the Jamaica Broilers-sponsored Jamaica trial/practice match in preparation for the 2004 Carib Beer Series between Gareth Breese's XI and Nehemiah Perry's XI at Broilers Field in Spring Village yesterday.
In reply to Breese's XI first day score of 200, Perry's XI were dismissed for the same total. Breese's XI were 28 for one, batting a second time.
Resuming yesterday's second day of the four-day match on four without loss, Lorenzo Ingram, 30, and Keith Hibbert, 40, provided a platform with a 53-run opening stand, but not much happened after that.
Despite the start and Tamar Lambert's 53 (5x4, 1x6) and Bevon Brown, 26, the rest of batting failed against pacer Dwight Mais (3-30) and off-spinner Breese (3-44).
Legspinner Odean Brown (2-28) and left-arm spinner Ryan Cunningham (2-46) were also among the wickets.
In their second turn at bat, Breese's XI lost Danza Hyatt, one, to fast bowler Evon McInnis (1-16). They also suffered a scare when opener Nicholas Austin, zero, was forced to retire hurt after he was struck by Andrew Richardson on the box.
Maurice Kepple, 12, Vinard Woolcock, 11, are the not out batsmen going into today's third day.
