Time for evolution of Electoral Commission
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE ELECTORAL Advisory Committee is one of our more successful, effective and respected national institutions.

A position of great weakness
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT IS expedient and even relevant that the government should be seeking to arrive at a social contract with the productive sector through the trade unions, specifically the Jamaica Council of Trade Unions (JCTU).

Admirable public servants
THE EDITOR, Sir: JAMAICA IS privileged to have in public service many citizens of the highest competence and integrity. Our Auditor General has displayed an admirable measure of both these characteristics with a generous serving of courage.

When the dust settles
THE EDITOR, Sir: WHEN THE dust finally settles on the controversy over Andre Kole, the following facts of scripture will ever remain.

Loss of civility
The EDITOR: Sir, THE RECENT events of the Mace grabbing and unfortunate walk-out in parliament last week, indicate a loss of civility in the House most in need of level-headedness, honesty and ability to read, understand, and plan the nation's affairs.

Time to fix the problem
THE EDITOR, Sir: I BELIEVE it is the pride of all the residents in the parish of Manchester to see their capital, Mandeville, looking spick-and-span.

Prices are crazy
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE RECENT article concerning the demise of the car rental business in Jamaica cannot be blamed solely on the upsurge of private ownership of cars.

Be our brother's keeper
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WISH that if it is possible everyone should have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. But we must remember even at Christmas some could be faced with great problems.

Terrorism Act needs to be simplified
THE EDITOR, Sir: IN RESPECT to the anti-terrorism measures which the Government has tabled in Parliament...

Shame on us
THE EDITOR, Sir: TEACHERS HAVE been overpaid millions of dollars.
