An appeal to readers

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I AM Detective Chief Inspector with the Sussex Police in Sussex, United Kingdom. I am currently investigating the murder of an unidentified black man who was stabbed to death, trussed up, placed in a barrel and thrown 500ft off a cliff. Hair analysis has shown that the man was a cocaine user and most likely he was a crack addict.
For various reasons I believe he was most likely to have come to Britain from the Caribbean and probably from Jamaica. I have his fingerprints and DNA but he is not known on the British Police system. I have a reasonable picture of the man created by medical artists and he has a very distinctive scar on his left cheek. National newspaper and television appeals have failed to identify this man and in view of this I have to try further afield.
I am hoping that you may be able to offer some assistance in this matter by covering the story and appealing to your readers on my behalf.
I am, etc.,
