EWL, Seaboard Jamaica offer Europe to Ja service
published: Tuesday | February 17, 2004

EUROPE WEST Indies Lines (EWL) a leading carrier from Europe to the Caribbeanand the north coast of South and Central America has formed a partnership with Seaboard Jamaica and is now offering a weekly service to Jamaica.

Specifically, there will be arrivals on Tuesdays in Kingston and Fridays in Montego Bay.

EWL has been moving cargo from Europe to the Caribbean for 20 years and prides itself on being a premium brand providing customers with superb ocean transport services. Jamaica has now been added to the lists of Caribbean ports serviced by EWL from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain, and Belgium.

Director of Sales and Marketing at Seaboard, Anna Hamilton, says the company is pleased to be associated with the new service, which offers improved advantage for customers.

"Seaboard is excited about this new partnership, which allows us to offer our customers a more global service. It is a new area for Seaboard as we have generally remained within the region doing business with our neighbours the world is a much smaller place today and it is imperative for survival in an increasingly competitive world that we expand our reach beyond our borders," Mrs. Hamilton observes.

EWL was founded in 1985 and is a member of the Wethold International B.V., the holding company of a group of subsidiary companies engaged in the shipping and transport industry. The company's head office is based in Boompies in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Rapid expansion has equalled massive growth of EWL in every area: ships capacity, service destinations and professional team. EWL now services a total of 46 destinations in the Caribbean and boasts a fleet of six vessels with 1,100-twenty-foot equivalent unit (teu) capacity, and one vessel of 400 teu capacity which is operated as a dedicated EWL feeder to the Guyana's. All types of equipment are available.
