Illegal taxi crisis
published: Friday | February 27, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I HAVE a problem with the illegal taxi drivers en route from Half Way Tree to New Kingston. Not only are they hog drivers, but most of them break every road code. I wonder if the vehicles they operate belong to them.

When they reach the intersection at Y.M.C.A. they pass by every vehicle without joining the line, and they want to make a right turn just like everyone else, and they do so carelessly. It's rather scary.

I think the Government should provide some executive coaster buses, for many of us are indeed executives and would not want to take the big white buses.

I tried those buses once, it was a very scary experience. I would rather pay $150 than to take those buses that swing from left to right, make some sharp stops and many of which never have available seats.

I am, etc.,
