published: Sunday | February 29, 2004

Chester Francis-Jackson, Contributor

IT IS STAR TIME, my dears. That time of the year when the coveted best of American glitz, glamour and the latest in cosmetic surgery goes on show in Hollywood.

It's the celebrated Oscar parade tonight under the glare of an international public.

Daahlings, not to be outdone, Jamaica, too will be hosting its own red carpet Oscar do at the trés chic Strawberry Hill Resort and Spa in Upper St. Andrew the preserve of the international jet-set and Hollywood players.

Doves, the brainchild of international pop-icon Chris Blackwell, this year's $2,000 per ticket do will be bolstered by what General Manager Carole Fullerton is promising to be an epicurean delight for guests.

The event will see a live screening of the awards, plus live performance by the Area Youth Krew.

Proceeds from the event will go towards inner-city charities.

Dovecakes, it promises to be a red-hot and oh so fab affair.

A number of leading Jamaican actors as well as international personalities will be in attendance and is a must-attend for film and movie buffs as well as the chic and fabulous!

More anon, as it promises to be one fabulously hot Sunday night!

LEAP YEAR CRUISE

Then also happening today is the International Proxy Parents-sponsored Leap Year Kingston Harbour Cruise aboard the celebrated Caribbean Queen.

The cruise will leave the Kingston Harbour (near the Craft Market) at 6:00 p.m. with an all-inclusive party at $2,000 per person with the "Dare To Care Home" charity being the beneficiary of this here outing.

Dears, its going to be one of those days and nights. Hot-to-trot, and then some.
