Two Tests for Jamaica
published: Saturday | March 6, 2004

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua, CMC

JAMAICA'S Sabina Park has been granted a second Test for the West Indies' 2004 home series against Bangladesh.

The West Indies Cricket Board has dropped Guyana's Bourda Oval as one of the venues for the two-Test series and has replaced it with Sabina Park.

"The Guyana Cricket Board has informed us that the timing of the tour coincides with their rainy season, hence the change," WICB chief operations officer Zorol Barthley told CMC Sports.

St. Lucia's Beausejour Stadium, originally the venue for the second Test, will now host the first Test from May 28 to June 1, and the second Test at Sabina Park will now take place from June 4 to 8.

Bangladesh also play three One-day Internationals at St. Vincent's Arnos Vale Playing Field on May 15 and 16, and Grenada's Queen's Park Stadium on May 19.

It will be Bangladesh's first Test and ODI tour of the Caribbean following a visit from their A-Team for the West Indies first-class championship two years ago.
