Loads of car parts seized

OFFICERS FROM the Special Anti-Crime Task Force yesterday pack one of three truck loads of car parts seized at premises on St. James Avenue, off Maxfield Avenue, Kingston, yesterday.

At least two persons have been detained in connection with what the police believe is a multimillion dollar racket involving assorted car parts.

In an operation, led by Senior Superintendent Donald Pusey, and head of the St. Andrew Central Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB), Deputy Superintendent Clinton Laing, the police swooped down on the premises shortly after 2:00 p.m., surprising the occupants in the process.

Among the items seized were: 60 car doors, 10 bonnets, 22 car trunks, 130 door windows, 10 windscreens, 12 dash boards, 43 tail lights, 22 headlights, 27 air condition units, one Nissan engine, one Toyota Corolla engine, 20 rear view mirrors, 22 bumpers, four steering wheels, seven speedometres.
