KWL heightens focus on customer service
published: Tuesday | March 30, 2004

Managing Director of Kingston Wharves Limited (KWL), Grantley Stephenson, who assumed that position last October, has given the assurance of consistently good service at KWL and has provided an overview of the company's new service and initiatives to improve security for 2004. These were outlined at a recent customer service meeting where he promised to improve quality through certain infrastructural and organisational changes. He also outlined KWL's new rate structure, which takes effect on April 1, 2004.

BETTER SERVICE

The meeting, which took place at Kingston Wharves offices at Port Bustamante, was held to gain feedback and insight from customers on how to serve them better, as well as to provide an update on the company's development.

Approximately 40 customers, including deconsolidators and shipping agents, participated in the meeting. Customers were given the opportunity to air their concerns as it related to the management of KWL and Security Administrators Limited, Kingston Wharves' subsidiary, which provides security at the Port of Kingston.

As part of its customer service drive, the company presented three computers to the Juan De Bolas Primary School in St. Catherine. The school, with seven teachers and 120 students, will use the computers to benefit the school population as well as the wider community in which the school is located.
