A moot point on ganja possession
THE EDITOR, Sir: SOMETIME AGO, on a radio programme, I told Franklin McKnight, that able and brilliant journalist, that the law permits persons to have ganja in their possession, and I made reference to section two of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

Poor treatment for mentally ill
THE EDITOR, Sir: I MUST agree with the Learned Resident Magistrate, in the Montego Bay Court, Miss Valrie Stephens, about the poor treatment of the mentally ill in the justice system.

Ja needs to police the police
THE EDITOR, Sir: WE THE Jamaican people need an independent body to investigate the police.

Examining phone rent
THE EDITOR, Sir: FOR YEARS I have been plagued by this burning question: "On what basis are customers of a telephone service provider charged line rental?" So today I decided to do a bit of linguistic research on the subject.

Health facility to utilise
THE EDITOR, Sir: KINDLY ALLOW me some space in your columns to bring this matter to the public.

Accolades for Lara
THE EDITOR, Sir: Perhaps Brian Lara's mentor, Sir Garfield Sobers, being a Knight of the round table could suggest or recommend that Brian Charles Lara join the cricketing round table of Sir Donald Bradman, and Sir Vivian Richards...

Judge not!
THE EDITOR, Sir: I wish to respond to a letter from Eileen Powell entitled 'Extreme Passion' published in The Gleaner on April 14, 2004.

Sex on the buses
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE RECENT stories of children who are having sex in buses and public places speak volumes about how depraved our nation has become. Where are the parents and responsible adults in these children's lives.

'One Love', well done
THE EDITOR, Sir: KINDLY ALLOW me to use this medium to give my views on the movie One Love.

Better ways to control speed
THE EDITOR, Sir: PLEASE ALLOW me space in your paper to express my thoughts on the proposed speed control devices.

Well-wishers in Ocho Rios
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE BURKE family of Exchange, Ocho Rios, would like to thank all individuals who gave their support and prayers to the recovery of Sunil Burke.
