Ridiculous manslaughter sentence
published: Thursday | May 6, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MY GOD, what is this country coming to? I've just finished reading your article on the cab driver who was given a mere 2 1/2 years for manslaughter. Is this a type error? is it really meant to read 22 1/2 years? I was one of hundreds of persons who attended the funeral in St. Thomas last June. I didn't know a soul there, but I had to leave Kingston to attend. The parents' expression would have melted an iceberg. I dread to think how they must be feeling after hearing such a ridiculous sentence.

I am, etc.,
