FOUR FINALISTS in the Rising Stars talent search competition have so far been selected by public voting. Last Friday night Manchester contestants Alex Forbes and Chantelle Smith (Ras I Wha and Chanti-I) and Keron 'Jay' Palmer joined Port Antonio singer Winston Lewis, aka Cavan, and the a capella group H5 from St. Catherine for the final showdown.

Ras I Wha and Chanti-I were the public's clear favourites receiving triple the votes of any of the other contestants from Mandeville and guaranteeing them a place in the finals of Rising Stars, Jamaica's first live televised talent search.

Tonight, two more finalists from the Montego Bay top 10, announced last Sunday on TVJ, will be known. The Montego Bay top 10 contestants are Yendi Brissett, Errol 'Lyrics Factory' Wilson, Tanisha 'Renay' Lewis, N'Trigue, Oystian Sinclair, Michael Godfrey, Damion 'Teacha Dee' Warren, Lance Rhoden; Robert 'Changa Changa' Young and Dania Phang.

With voting open until 6 p.m. today, persons can vote for their favoured contestant either by sending as text message from a Digicel mobile phone or calling from any mobile or landline phone. Each text message will cost J$15 per vote and each call will cost J$25 per vote. A different phone number will be allocated to each contestant on the night of each show. Voting lines are open from 8 p.m. every Sunday that a top 10 is shown until 6 p.m. the following Friday.

The results show will then be broadcast on Friday at 9 p.m., revealing which two contestants will move forward to the final rounds.
