KSAC and illegal garages
published: Tuesday | June 22, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM writing regarding the matter of the KSAC and illegal garages. I operate a garage; as a woman in the business it is hard at times. The persons who are urging the closure of these garages are those that own and operate the big garages, for one thing if they were offering the service that people wanted at a reasonable cost they would not be fighting against the smaller garages.

I personally have helped a lot of people including children. When you close down all those garages there will be a lot of persons out of jobs. When there is no work and they cannot provide for their families, they are going to turn to crime and violence. Now the Government says they are providing jobs but yet still you cannot get a job, and so many persons have lost theirs, so instead of fighting against each other we should come together and try to find a solution to the problem.

I hope that they can meet with these operators and come to a amicable solution.

I am, etc.,
