Women's conference set to make impact
published: Tuesday | June 22, 2004

IN JULY, the women islandwide are invited to receive three days of high-powered ministry from some of the world's most renowned and internationally acclaimed female preachers. The Rev. Jackie McCullough, Pastor Paula White, Pastor Pat Francis and Rev. Evon Blair all team up for the Word Alive Women's Conference from July 22 to July 24 at the 3000 seat sanctuary of the Portmore New Testament Church of God.

The Word Alive Women's Conference is one of the vehicles being used to help fund the Word Alive Medical Clinic. The conference is free of charge to patrons and all offerings and pledges will be used to assist the free three day clinic which takes place in St. Mary during October of this year. The Word Alive Medical clinic has made a tremendous impact on several communities in Jamaica for the past seven years.

The last clinic was held in Portmore when it provided medical attention to some 8,000 people. This year the organisers hope to reach some 10,000 people over the three day period. A delegation of 300 doctors, dentists, nurses and pastors and lay leaders will be travelling from Canada, the United States and Africa to volunteer for this project.

The clinic will provide general check-ups, immunisation, minor eye surgeries, dental fillings and extractions, as well as basic education on STIs/AIDS and lifestyle diseases.

The Rev. McCullough, host of the Women's Conference, is well known in Jamaica for her medical outreaches, preaching engagements and television appearances.
