Clarendon C of C rejects extortion
published: Thursday | June 24, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE CLARENDON Chamber of Commerce wishes to use this medium to categorically condemn and reject the illegal acts of extortion that is creeping into our community.

We stand ready and available to assist law enforcement agencies and all citizens of goodwill to put this scourge of violence under full control. The chamber and other members of the business community have been meeting regularly with the police; exploring various possibilities that may eradicate this negative element in our society.

The board and membership wish to commend those members who came forward and brought to light the seepage of this act of criminality.

We are united in this effort to protect our community from those criminals who want to create mayhem in our community.

I am etc.,

HENRY C. MORANT

Chairman

Crime &

Violence Committee
