Indefensible lyrics
published: Wednesday | July 14, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ANDRIA SMYTHE in her letter published July 3, complained that Jamaican 'DJs' are being denied freedom of speech in the United Kingdom. Incitement to murder may be considered acceptable in some circles in Jamaica, but it is not in western Europe.

Perhaps Ms. Smythe is ignorant of the obscenely violent lyrics. If she is ignorant, she should first inform herself before writing to defend the indefensible.

I am, etc.,

Dr. J. G. HUNT
