By Juliet Capper, Gleaner WriterTHE FASHION world has evolved into a canvas of dazzling orange, yellow and green colours and the fads could have their space flaunting the same shades, thanks to the latest in paint technology.
Anyone can get wild on the interiors and all it requires is a little imagination and the magical brush of the newest technology on the market, Colourscape. This concept is introduced by Sherwin Williams and interestingly it serves to create a 'deja vu' experience in customers.
"If one wants to paint a house and would like to know how it would appear, we will take a digital photo and paint this with a virtual room on the computer. The client can then select the colours," said Kenneth Richardson, technical representative of Sherwin Williams.
A piece of fabric can also be scanned into the computer system, which generates a formula to mix the colours. The new technology, according to Mr. Richardson, is in response to the changing taste of customers.
MORE COLOUR CONSCIOUS
"Usually people would go after the standard colours, but today they are more colour conscious and would like shades that match their drapes," he noted.
There are about 6,000 shades to choose from and some people are falling for the unusual purple, very bright blue and yellow shades. There is also a fruity twist to the shades ripe mango (a bright orange) and banana peel (yellow). One of the hit spots for the new shades are stores.
"Everybody likes them. People would come in the store just to look at it," says Cecile Barclay, a store owner.
