THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT IS my firm conviction that every business person in this country is a hero or heroine. Every business person serves God whether he knows it or not. Some of the greatest examples and expressions of faith, courage, resilience, determination and grit are found in these men and women of our nation who started with nothing and no one and have built businesses small and great. These are largely, if not entirely, the people who consistently provide salaries for their staff and relations. They sustain the engine of commerce, agriculture and other institutions, including charities and politics.
BREAD-BASKET OF THE NATION
They are literally the cash net and the income that runs the nation. These enterprising business persons are really the bread-basket of this nation. On behalf of all of us who have benefited from their enterprise, I thank them and encourage them to continue their quest.
We must pray for them, support them morally, physically and financially. It would be wonderful if a spirit of partnership and co-operation could be developed in our hearts for the men and women who are trying a thing and the big businessmen who started with nothing.
May God bless our business persons and give us the spirit of goodwill and co-operation.
Congratulations to all business persons, even if you failed, because you tried. Thank you all for the efforts you have made. Because of you so many are sleeping in a bed and living in homes. Our prayers and support are with you. Be of good courage. Go and prosper in your endeavours and bring prosperity under God to our nation. Jesus Christ is Lord.
I am etc.,
