THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WOULD like to take this opportunity to 'big up' George Daley who risked his life to rescue the lives of those people who were trapped on the roof of a house at Big Woods during the recent hurricane.

Can you imagine paddling a boat in the dark with a flashlight in your mouth? This was no ordinary feat of bravery and I sincerely hope when the time comes for awards to be given, this gentleman will get one for bravery.

It's events like these that make the rest of us feel proud to be Jamaican. We cannot fail to add the achievements of our competitors in the Olympics to this list, especially our gold medalists.

Congratulations to you all; you made all Jamaica proud.
